Woman's World Interview
On Mother's Day 2008, I was interviewed for Woman's World for a piece about
stress.
I first asked what their readership was and the woman who interviewed me
said...women.
There were three points in the article that I emphasized...
1. Write down ideas that bring you happiness and help you feel relief. "I feel
wonderful today and am thankful to be alive." Write down in your stress-less
journal important phrases that you can use when times get tough.
Also, write down negative phrases but put a positive twist on them like: "Even
though the economy is bad and I lost my job, I'm learning how to get along with
my family."
2. Schedule a moment of time for yourself. What do you enjoy doing...find a
moment and do it. What recharges your batteries...find the time and do it.
Too many times we do so many 'have to's' that we don't do things for ourselves.
It's time to schedule some time for them.
3. Do some physical activity...anything! Take a brisk walk or a hike. Doing
something physical will engage your brain and nervous system and take you out of
the stress you are in for the moment.
