Post Traumatic Stress
Post traumatic stress disorder is a delayed reaction to an exceptionally
stressful situation or a life threatening event. After the stress is over and
after a period of time has lapsed, the person re-experiences the past traumatic
events as 'flash backs', or dreams and tries to avoid any stimuli or situation
which reminds of the past trauma. The symptoms include
-
Psychological numbing
-
Amnesia of certain aspects of the stressful event
-
Inability to experience pleasure
-
Isolation
-
Reduced interest in activities
-
Sleeplessness
-
Agitation
Remember,
Stress is the Response of the Body
In the case of Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder, the stress is over but the person REACTS to stress as
if the stress were present.
There is help to get to the cause of the old stress. The Ultimate
Natural Stress Managment Manual goes through serious questions such as:ugh serious questions such as:
-
Will serious accidents results in post
traumatic stress disorder?
- What are the behavioral changes caused as a result of post traumatic stress
disorder?
- Can substance abuse be treated as a long term effect of post traumatic stress
disorder?
Then these questions are addressed accordingly.
Sincerely,
Dr Peter Lind
