Stress Relieving
Stress relieving can be a day-long process. There are many things
you can do over your day to relieve your stress. There are two things that you
do all the time, every day. If you can focus on them and use them to your
benefit, you will have a long-term stress reliever that you can use any time.
One is breathing. The other is thinking.
You do these; let's get serious.
Breathing
When you breathe you are eliminating the ill effects of stress due to retention
of toxins like carbon dioxide and lactate. You are oxygenating every cell in
your body to use for energy. The amount of air entering and leaving the
respiratory tract during each breath is 500 ml. By breathing deeply this is
increased to 1500 ml. This helps in more oxygen entering in and carbon dioxide
going out. The steps of deep breathing are:
-
Sit comfortably with a straight back
-
Take a deep breath. The movement should me more in the abdomen than the chest.
Your abdomen should move, not your stomach.
-
Now exhale so that the abdomen moves inward.
-
Do this for about 10 minutes every day.
Thinking
Actually, this is the opposite of thinking. It a process of
resting your mind, not concentrating, or focusing on anything. Wouldn't that be
nice?
You will be able to go into a deep mental relaxation.
Do this twice a day for about 20 minutes by sitting in a
comfortable position with eyes closed. As you do this, your mind will progress
through three levels of relaxation:
-
Restful alertness
-
Deep relaxation
-
Complete awareness and peace
Find a quiet place and:
-
Sit comfortably
-
Close your eyes
-
Think of one thing like breathing or one word like white
-
Take deep breaths
-
Do this for 30 minutes twice a day
This is relaxation of both body and mind.
Inside The Ultimate Natural Stress Management Manual there will be
numerous exercises and examples you will use for your own personal stress
reduction.
