How Does Stress Affect the Body

The body undergoes many reactions and changes to stress.

The first affect is INFLAMMATION. The body produces hormones that cause excitation. Inflammation is important to get the body responding to the threat of stress. If the affect of inflammation is greater than the stress, the body can overcome the stress.

To balance the inflammation in the body there are hormones that cause ANTI-INFLAMMATION.

In a perfect body and response to stress, these two types of hormones are balanced and the threat of stress abates.

However, if the stress is greater than the body's response to it, the body can be damaged. The adrenal glands get larger while they produce more and more of IFLAMMATORY and ANTI-INFLAMMATORY hormones.

The circulatory system is affected, the skin is affected, the lymphatic system is affected, the immune system is affect, the gastro-intestinal system is affected.
