How
Stress Causes Stomach Problems
The stomach will bleed and deep ulcers form
in its lining. The amount of stress can be so severe that stress can affect your bowels. This phenomenon was first discovered and noted by the great
stress scientist, Hans Selye.
Before we get into the physiological problems of the stomach a
point to be made that you already know. The stomach is considered the
"SECOND BRAIN"
The stomach is the place where we 'feel things in our gut'. It is
the 'gut feeling' we get about something. When the stomach is affected by
stress, it's other function--the second brain--is also affected, and we loose
touch with some of our feelings or insights.
Stomach ulceration is one of the three manifestations of the
effects of stress on the body. There can be many blood-covered stomach ulcers in
a person who is under stress.
This process is not a "disease" as much as it is a fight to
maintain homeostatic balance of the body. The stomach irritation and ulcer then
becomes the side effect of stress. It is how the body reacts.
Logical correction is not directed to the stomach ulceration as
much as it is to the stress that has helped caused it. If the only attention is
to the stomach it may clear but a new and remote problem arises in the face of
stress.
The other two manifestations of stress will appear: enlargement
and disfunction of the adrenal glands and intense shrinkage of the lymphatic
structures (thymus, spleen, and lymph nodes).
The affects of stress on the stomach aren't as common as they
were. They are still present but this generation has switched more to the adrenl
and lymphatic structure changes.
In the ULTIMATE NATURAL STRESS MANAGEMENT MANUAL I take
you through a personal, step-by-step process of uncovering your particular
stress and offer specific ways to eliminate them.
